Southampton and Portsmouth drew 1-1 in their second derby game of the season

Portsmouth and Southampton have both received hefty fines after the mass confrontation that occurred in January's south coast derby.
Both clubs admitted a charge of failing to ensure that their players behaved in an improper and/or provocative way,, external (https://www.thefa.com/news/2026/feb/17/portsmouth-and-southampton-sanctioned-170226) with Saints being handed a £50,000 fine, while Portsmouth must pay £25,000.
With about 20 minutes remaining Flynn Downes and Zak Swanson clashed, external (https://x.com/DanGeorgee/status/2024081513705259328?s=20) after a heavy challenge by Saints midfielder Downes, triggering a melee involving a number of players.
The second south coast derby of the season ended in a draw. Leo Scienza fired Saints into the lead before Ebou Adams headed in a late leveller.
